About Project
A Small Museum of Kindness
Wangwang Memorial is a non-commercial public-welfare project — a permanent digital memorial space for one small dog, and a gentle reminder for every life.
It is not a news site, not a forum, and not a place to attack anyone. It is a quiet corner of the internet built on peace, respect, hope, and compassion.
By remembering one specific life, we hope to inspire reflection on animal protection, respect for life, opposition to cruelty, and the bond between humans and animals.
Goodness prevails, justice triumphs.
For this kind and lovely girl, doing what little one can.

Stepping into an information cocoon
I feel like I've stepped into an information cocoon. Whenever I open short-video platforms, I see countless people mourning Wangwang. I press "like" on every single post I come across, but I can't bring myself to look directly at the photos or footage from the scene. It brings me to tears instantly—I just lose all control of my emotions.· · · - 2

Slipping into depression
I feel like I'm slipping into depression. Every day I feel completely drained, emotionally broken. My very first pet in life was a stray dog I picked up outside a factory gate while on a business trip. Dogs mean everything to me. I know their pure hearts, their unconditional love for humans—I know it so well... It hurts so deeply. Sometimes I feel a sharp, suffocating pressure in the left side of my chest, right where my heart is. Beyond the grief, what chilled me to the bone was realizing that the content I had liked on Douyin yesterday was gone today. The platform is actively deleting and censoring posts. Sigh... Living here, after all, we cannot speak out freely.· · · - 3

I must do something
I must do something. I know there are countless compassionate souls in Mainland China who desperately want to speak up, to seek justice for Wangwang, and to protect more vulnerable, innocent animals. But due to various restrictions, people cannot express themselves or discuss freely. I've decided to put my current tarot project on hold and immediately build a non-profit website. An overseas memorial site dedicated to Wangwang, so that she can live forever in the digital world.· · · - 4

Domain name chosen
This is the third night in a row I've pulled an all-nighter. The prototype of the website is finally ready. I went to purchase a domain name, taking a long time with AI's help to pick the right one. wangwangdog is her unique name, and the .org extension represents an organization—we are a non-profit, dedicated to doing good. That has been my original intent all along. I actually wanted the .com domain to maximize our reach, but it's currently unavailable—what a pity. Besides, .com domains are so expensive; I checked several options, and the prices were ridiculously beyond my current budget.· · · - 5

Rushing against time, finally made it
Rushing against time, I finally made it! The site went live today. Wangwang, baby, it's been exactly a month since you left us. Are you doing well over there? No one will ever hurt you or your puppies again. I wish so badly I could be there with you.· · · - 6

Opening social media accounts
Today, I set up several social media accounts and started promoting the site. I want to do everything in my power to let more people know about this story, uniting our efforts to push for real change. Maybe—just maybe—the world really can become a better place because of our hard work! Thinking about this gives me so much drive. I'm only sleeping about four hours a day now, but I still feel intensely energized. It feels like an endless stream of motivation.· · · - 7

A week of hard work
A week of hard work brought in thousands of visits, which fills me with relief. Looking at the messages left on the Memory Wall by people from all over the world, I couldn't help but cry... You all love Wangwang so deeply. Thank you. There are truly so many kind hearts in this world.· · · - 8

Brainstorming with AI
I realized that promoting the website right now is very difficult if I rely solely on publishing content myself. I turned to AI to brainstorm suggestions. The AI advised me to make the site self-propagating—allowing visitors to share easily—and to introduce a membership system. I urgently updated the backend and started building the membership framework. I want members to help spread this hope far and wide.· · · - 9

Membership framework ready
Finished writing the code. A membership can be unlocked for $0.10, and local testing passed. Dawn is breaking, and I really want to sleep. However, during payment testing, the sandbox failed. I was completely thrown off. After looking into it, I found out that under the current payment ecosystem, processors like PayPal and Waffo cannot support such microtransactions. They charge a fixed fee of around $0.40 per transaction, plus a variable rate between 3% and 40%... I felt devastated. There was no way around it: if the amount is too low, everything goes straight to third-party payment platforms. Even though my intention was never to raise funds, this felt unreasonable—taking payments only to have them eaten up by fees instead of going where they belong. I decided to adjust the membership tier to $9.90. At this amount, transaction fees across both platforms stay under 10%. Although this raises the entry threshold, I will use the remaining proceeds to establish a charitable fund, practicing public welfare in the name of this website and Wangwang. All other features on the site remain fully operational, and the membership is officially named the "Guardian Program." If this can unite people around the world who share the same vision, I would be deeply honored and inspired. Let us walk together and tirelessly advocate for animal protection.· · · - 10

I miss you so much, I can't stop the tears from falling.
Dearest baby Wangwang, you had no master in life, and my greatest regret is never having met you. But now, I am your master, and you will always have me. This world isn't so wonderful, but I will never give up. I will make sure everyone remembers you forever, and I will stand by you until the very end of the world. 🕯️🐾🤍· · · - 12

💬 Founder's Monologue: Turning Grief and Anger into the Power of Change
Ever since WangWang left us, I founded this digital memorial website. My original intention was simply to create a quiet, heartwarming space for her and other innocent souls—a place where people could gently light a candle and remember her warmth and beauty. However, as time went on, I began to see many graphic, distressing photos and messages posted on the memorial wall. In that moment, I realized deeply that what everyone carries in their hearts is not only endless grief for WangWang, but also an overwhelming sense of pain, anger, and helplessness in the face of cruelty. Yet, I often think that if WangWang could see us from heaven, she would hope for us not just to weep for her, but to do something meaningful for the thousands of innocent lives who are still trapped in the dark. I do not want our grief to end in sighs, nor do I want our anger to consume us in helpless despair. I want us to channel our shared grief and anger into tangible, constructive action. That is why I launched the new "Action Center" page on our website. I have gathered all the viable avenues I could currently find—whether it is advocating for animal protection legislation, engaging in constructive outreach, or supporting welfare initiatives. My hope is that compassionate people from all corners of the world can quickly find practical ways to take action right here, transforming their love and righteous anger into a shield that truly protects these innocent animals. If you would like to contribute to making a real change, I invite you to visit our Action Center. This is still an evolving effort. If you have more effective, constructive suggestions for action, or if you notice any key channels, organizations, or contact details missing from the page, please do not hesitate to reply and let me know. Thank you to everyone who visits this memorial. Every light lit and every action taken brings us one step closer to a kinder, more compassionate world. — Founder of WangWang Memorial Website: www.wangwangdog.org
